🎣 The Catch Up
Hi there,
2 things for you this week:
1/ Tonight’s note is a podcast
I was out with the flu a good bit of the week. Rather than leave you hanging, I thought I’d share another type of content with you. Let me know if you enjoy it.
2/ I’m launching Pure Procurement Fireside Chats
A few weeks ago, I polled you asking if you’d be interested in intimate virtual meetings with product development leaders from the ProcureTech space. You were 30+ to respond ‘yes’ without any more details - legends!
The objective?
Create a safe space to have deep, no B.S., no sales discussions on what’s actually possible with different types of technologies in the ProcureTech space (warts and all).
Doesn’t that sound ✨magical✨?
I’m pleased to announce that the first Fireside Chat guest will be Erin Macfarlane, VP of Product Innovation at Fairmarkit, a leader in the Autonomous Sourcing software space. I’ll be asking her about:
The current state of the autonomous sourcing market
Strengths, weaknesses of these tools
How she sees it improving going forward (and what’s driving that)
Running through different but typical use cases (e.g. integration with ERP vs. S2P), etc.
How to use these tools correctly to maximize value gained
I’ll then open it up to some Q&A with participants.
The session is planned in 2 weeks on Friday, March 15th @ 10:00am Eastern Time.
Participants will be limited to 20 to keep my promise on the “intimate” part 🙂
We’ll chat for 60 mins… Maybe a bit more if we’re on a roll.
I think you’ll be hard pressed to find a more useful 60 minutes this month when it comes to leveling up on procurement technology!
If this is of interest to you, vote below. I’ll reach out with next steps, as applicable.
Get your smores ingredients ready… 🔥
Do you want to attend the first Pure Procurement Fireside Chat with Fairmarkit's Erin Mcfarlane on Autonomous Sourcing?First come, first served. However, premium subscribers will get priority. |
Have a great week ahead.
Best,
Joël
P.S. In case you missed it, here was my most popular LinkedIn post of the week:
I don't believe in centralized Procurement.
Tonight’s note is sponsored by…
Too many companies fail to invest in an intuitive, easy purchasing process.
Out-of-policy spend and lengthy approval times to make needed purchases are accepted as normal. It doesn't have to be this way.
Gain earlier spend control and end-to-end efficiency with Ramp's powerful procurement software. Automate the entire procure-to-pay process, capture every purchase request in one place, and guide employees through your approvals process.
It's easy to use, fast to deploy and allows you to consolidate corporate cards, expenses, accounts payable and procurement in a single platform.
🌙 Sunday Night Note Podcast
Last week, I sat down with Marc Kloepfel, CEO of Kloepfel Group - a procurement consulting firm based in Germany, to discuss my thoughts on:
The challenges you’ll face when digitalizing your procurement function
How procurement should think about Artificial Intelligence
The difference between Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) requirements and sustainability and how procurement needs to approach both.
Mark started his YouTube channel in October 2023 and has been going hard! He’s already posted 77 videos since then.
